The 6 Kalimas In Islam
The word Kalima is taken from the Arabic word “Kalimah,” meaning “Word.”
There are six Kalimas in all, which are the fundamental Islamic beliefs of Muslims.
Millions of Muslims worldwide frequently remember them from childhood. They teach core concepts about Allah and Islam to spend their lives according to these ideas and fundamental values.
The Six Kalima in Arabic along with Urdu & English Translation
All the six Kalimas are whole Quranic passages. These Kalimas are as below:
1- First- Kalimas Tayyab or Kalimah Tayyibah
“Kalimat Tayyibah” means the “word of Purity.”
The first Kalima in Roman Transliteration is read as:
Pronunciation- La Ilaha Illallahu Muhammad Ur Rasulullah
2- Second- Kalima Shahadat
The meaning of the word “Shahadat” is “Testimony.”
The second Kalimas in Roman Transliteration is read as:
Pronunciation- Ashhadu Alla Ilaha Illallah Wahdahu La Sharika Lahu Lahu Wa-Ash-Aadu Anna Muhammadan Abduhoo Wa Wasooluhu.
3- Third- Kalima Tamjeed
The meaning of the word “Tamjeed” is “Glorification.”
The third Kalma in Roman Transliteration is read as:
Pronunciation: Subhanallah Walhamdulillah Wala Ilaha Illallah Wallahu Akbar Wala Hawla Wala Quwwata Illa Billah Aliyyil Azeem
4- Fourth- Kalima Touheed
The meaning of the word “Touheed” is “Unity.”
The fourth Kalima in Roman Transliteration is read as:
Pronunciation- La Ilaha Illallah Wahdahu La Sharika Lahu, Lahul Mulku Wa Lahul Hamdu Yuhyi Wa Yumitu Wahuwa Hayyu-L Laa Yamootu Abadan Abada. Dhul Jalaali Wal Ikraam. Biyadihil Khair. Wahuwa Ala Kulli Shai-In Qadeer.
5- Fifth- Kalima Astaghfar
The meaning of the word “Astaghfar” is “Penitence.”
The fifth Kalima in Roman Transliteration is read as:
Pronunciation- Astaghfirullah Rabbi Min Kulli Dhambin Adhnabtuhoo ‘Amadan Aw Khata-an Sirran Aw ‘Alaaniyata-wn Wa-atoobu Ilaihi Min-adh Dhambi-l Ladhee A’lamu Wamina-dh Dhambi-l Ladhi Laaa A’lamu Innaka Anta ‘Allaamu-l Ghuyoobi Wasattaaru-l ‘Uyoobi Wa Ghaffaaru-dh Dhunubi Walaa Hawla Walaa Quwwata Illaa Billaahi-l ‘Aliyyil ‘Azeem.
6- Sixth- Kalima Radd-e-Kufar
The meaning of the word “Radd-e-Kufar” is “Rejecting Disbelief.”
The sixth Kalima in Roman Transliteration is read as:
Pronunciation- Allahumma Inne A’udhu-bika Min An Ushrika Bika Shay-awn Wa-ana A’lamu Bihee Wa-astaghfiruka Limaa Laaa A’lamu Bihee Tubtu ‘Anhu Wata-barraatu Mina-l Kufri Wash-shirki Wal-kidhbi Wal-gheebati Wal-bid’ati Wan-nameemati Wal-fawahishi Wal-buhtaani Wal-m’aasi Kulli-haa Wa-Aslamtu Wa-aqoolu Laaa Ilaaha Illa-llaahu Muhammadur Rasulullah.
